Today marks a decade since the inception of GoodBuzz Solutions. Reflecting on the 10 year journey, it’s been an incredible ride filled with challenges, growth, and immense gratitude for the Lord’s provison.
The Beginning
In 2015, shortly after returning to our native Texas from spending 5 years in Washington, D.C., my husband was consumed by going back to school in his accounting studies. Within months, we purchased our first home, and soon after, we were expecting our first child. Amidst these life changes, GoodBuzz Solutions was created to provide for our family, and boy has it! With determination, I reached out to my network, sending out cards to announce our launch and seek referrals. Every client since has come through personal connections or introductions, a testament to the power of relationships.
Navigating Life and Business
Over the past 10 years, I’ve balanced the roles of entrepreneur and mother, experiencing five pregnancies and raising four children—all while counseling GoodBuzz clients and volunteering on Boards and helping some pro bono. Without traditional maternity leave, the first few weeks and months demanded resilience and adaptability as I had the priviledge of earning my keep. The business consistently generated income every month—even through seasons of personal and global upheaval, including the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, the business experienced significant growth in 2020, driven by the surge in demand for digital marketing, the continued importance of live and virtual events, and a shortage of professionals ready to step up and get the job done.
THE WORK
I’ve helped the wedding industry, worked in engineering, political parties, campaigns, PACs, nonprofits, small businesses, medium business, universities, membership associations, with other independent contractors, personal brands, law firms, and startups — many brands who are listed in the graphic and some that aren’t. I’ve traveled the globe for clients but mostly enjoyed staying close in Central Texas working from home near my babies and gathering in person for meetings and events. I’ve designed infographics, developed issue advocacy campaigns, managed marketing and social media, built business development plans, fundraised more than $5 million dollars, created email marketing systems, texted millions (!) of contacts, planned and executed more than 500 events, mentored executive leadership and been a source of confidential support through tough transitions, and run hundreds of Strategic Planning Workshops to help teams take it to the next level,
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this milestone, I am filled with gratitude for the clients, partners, and friends who have been part of this grand adventure. Your trust and collaboration have been the cornerstone of GoodBuzz Solutions’ success and contributed to my personal fulfillment. I’m so grateful to be alive and have the pleasure of making a difference in this world. Our work is meaningful and adding value to so many. And we’re just getting started.
